Walls of Faith

Matthew 17:20 – “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Do you ever have one of those weeks where at every turn you have an obstacle to overcome? Do you find yourself trying to figure out how to get over the wall but nothing you do seems to work? I call these “walls of faith.” God puts these walls in front of us to test our faith to see how we are going to handle them. Are we going to rely on ourselves, or rely on Him? These walls come in various shapes and sizes. When I get to these walls, I sometimes try to climb over them but usually end up falling to the ground. I’ve gone left and right, trying to find a different path, but I always seem to end up at another wall. So when these walls come along, how do we get through to the other side? In my Christian walk, I’ve learned the hard way that I can’t move these walls by myself. I have to ask God for help to remove these walls so I can pass through. As Matthew 17:20 tells us, if we have just a little faith in Him we can move mountains and nothing will be impossible. I like the sound of that. It’s great to know God is there all the time to help me out. So next time you find yourself in front of another wall, just remember to have a little faith in God and ask him to help you move those walls.
