hey guys i’m new at this, but i gotta a question. I planted a plot of tecomate monster mix, and the deer are on it pretty good. Well certain spots are about 12’’ tall. The deer seem to be going back to the spots they have already ate on before. So my plot is really wavey, is it ok to mow it?

Hi Jay, I’m new here but I’ve been planting clover for a while now, When I cut mine, I leave it about 6-8 inches high and never cut it when its hot and dry, if you have a rock rake or straw rake, raking up the clippings helps also. I see the same thing in my plots, its like they each have a favorite spot to browse, I’ve wondered at times if those places got a little extra fertilizer or something

Hey steve, thanks for the tip. I did some more research and found out some more stuff, but thats what i did. I cut my plot and left just a little shorter, nothing i could do. Just using the stuff i got, it worked good my clover is coming back real strong and the deer are still in it. The only thing i don’t know about is the turnips will come back. but there still in the ground so the deer can get to them in the winter. It can get pretty cold up here in michigan so i’m really hoping that they will eat them up when it gets cold. Hey just a tip that i just figured out. If you ever had a problem with the deer locating the clover, i used the artificial vanilla extract and put it in a spray bottle. Well i sprayed just part of my plot and put my camera out. Wow, the deer blew it up. I was getting about 50 pics a day. 5-6 bucks at a time, and a bunch of doe’s. Its was pretty cazy. Nice talking with you steve, have a good season
