Hey Joe. Go nail that hammer in Illinois! I just got back from Illinois this morning and I was there just a tad too early. I should have waited to arrive today instead of last Tuesday. Never saw a mature buck till the 4th day of the hunt. After that, the older bucks were on their feet every day. You should be hitting it just perfect!! Blaine and I are headed back out next week to film the Illinois shotgun season for Bucks of Tecomate. It should be off the hook!!!
Hello Forum,
My name is Ryan and live in the heart of deer country, the Texas Hill Country. I’ve been an avid hunter/outdoorsman ever since I could lift the toilet seat(momma taught me right). I am an Architect by day and a novice taxidermist by hobby. I have a beautiful wife and 10 mo. old little girl, so they run the show. I was born and raised on a dairy farm out in East Central Texas where I do alot of my deer/dove/hog/fishing when I get the chance to head that way. I picked up my first compound bow about 9 years ago and haven’t put it down since. I’m a Texas Tech Alum, class of ‘06. On the farm, we practice QDM as required by the County as well as MLD permits issued. I finally had the chance to take my first “wall hanger” Dec. of last year with my bow (avator pic). It’s going to be a pleasure meeting all of you.
Shoot Straight,
Ryan

Hey everyone......
My name is Mark Hunnicutt. I live in San Diego, CA. Sometime next year, we will be moving to North Carolina. I just wanted
to see what kind of message board you have.
I’m Brandon Davis and i live in deep east Texas and hunt near Sonora, Tx with my family on a lease that we got on this year. It’s a 3,500 a/c lease and i have a lot of questions. I have the coolest family ever, a beautiful wife and two little hunters( 2yrs and 8 months). There on the way to the stand. I get the great opportunity to hunt with my father and brother and uncles and grandparents. We are trying to learn all that we can about deer management. I hope to get some answers to some questions that we have. Oh, ya i also love to watch “The Bucks of Tecomate”.
Hello,..
I just signed up this evening,...I haven’t hunted in 5 years,..since my Father passed away.
I’m 53 years old,and started when I was old enough to go with my Dad,and my Brother,..(both gone now)
I got discouraged rifle hunting,up here in Michigan,I think I averaged a deer/buck only every seven years!
For many years, the state issued very few antlerless permits(lottery),unless you had private land.

Welcome to the site. Come late winter I am sure you will get all the food plot planting advise you can ever imagine on this site. Lots of guys on here with lots of knowledge!
My name is Tony Abbate and I live in the winter wonderland of Michigan. I love to harvest whitetails and love the show.
I am a physically challenged individual and I have had the opportunity to participate in a Federal Wildlife Hunt here in Michigan, at the Shiawassee Wildlife Refuge. The hunt is tailored specifically for non-ambulatory(wheelchair) persons and the hospitality the refuge displays, is out of this world. Vicki Kennedy heads up the volunteer work and she does a wonderful job recruiting helpers, trackers and the like, to assit us folks in wheelchairs. Guys and girls participate and it is a great time to get into the woods and have fun and be a part of the harvest.
Bucks of Tecomate is one of my favorite shows and I think David, Jeff and Gary do a tremendous job of keeping us informed. Do you guys ever film in other states, such as Micjhigan? Even though our deer are not as near as bountiful as the great state of Texas, we would love to have you check us out sometime.
If anyone would like information on the Shiawasse harvest, just google Shiawassee Wildlife Refuge. It is a wonderfull experience! You would not believe the gratification, all persons enjoy, from a special hunt such as this.
Tony. Welcome to the site and thanks so much for watching the show..........glad you enjoy it. Capturing hunts on our own is difficult and when you throw in a cameraman with stipulations, it makes it even tuffer! That being said, know that when you see us capture a kill on film(and others for that matter), a lot of work and preparation has gone into that moment. When it all comes together, it is priceless, if you will.
Michigan is a great state and certainly has its share of whitetails. I have seen some real good ones come out of Michigan the last couple years and I am sure there will be more. Personally, I know of several guys up there that have been planting Tecomate Seed on their farms as part of their nutritional program. The deer have responded quite well to it, especially our Ultraforage and Max Attract 50/50.
I am friends with several physically challenged hunters in my area that do very well every year. They get out there day after day and enjoy the sport of hunting as much as they ever have. My hat is off to you!!!!
Are there any physically challenged hunts in your area? Is there a Federal Wiildlife Refuge anwhere nearby?
Does Tecomate ranch work with an outfitter in the area to schedule hunts on the ranch?.
I would love for my lifelong friend and helper David and I to get an opprotunity to visit Tecomate.
How would I go about learning about the services Tecomate ranch has to offer? Please advise.
My son Caleb 14 is an avid hunter/conservationist his dream is to one day own a ranch so that he can take less fortunate children and disabled children on hunts. He watches your show religiously! He is an academic athlete at his school and hopes to go on to play in college on scholarship to study (biology) land and deer management. Every year I try to take him hunting and fishing as much as I can. He has requested hunting and fishing trips as birthday and Christmas presents every year since the age of 5. At the age of 10 he started a ministry at church where he gave $100.00 of his Christmas to start a fund for less fortunate kids that wouldn’t receive anything for Christmas. His true compassion for this ministry has blessed many less fortunate children and has grown to include a giving tree at his school. As his father I stand amazed at his genuine desire to give to others, but this Christmas he astounded me by decided to give ALL of what he was to receive to other children, and was able to personally supply 38 kids with Christmas. Not only did he decide to give all he was going to receive but he sought out to find the specific kids. This selfless act is what has prompted my letter to you. Although a hunting trip to a facility like yours has always been beyond our budget I do normally try to take him to local preserves for his Christmas present. He has not even mentioned missing it , on the contrary he speaks of this being the best Christmas ever. David I watched one of your shows were you stated the sincere joy you had that your daughters had learned more about land/deer management than most anyone you knew and as a Pastor I admire the fact that you give God the Glory for your success. Jeff I admire your stand for God also, the platform that both of you have is enormous and I pray that you both continue to be successful in all of your endeavors. If there is any information on what you guys do that you could send to Caleb to help him on his journey to his dream it would be a true blessing. He loves others in away that only a child of God can. Selflessly!!. Thank- you for taking time to read this.

I live in Florida, have loved the outdoors since childhood. All kinds of hunting and fishing. I have been hunting on private lease in SC for 38 years. Also, hunt on close friends place in WV. 4 Years ago I bought 120 acre piece in KY, and have been improving it since. Planted food plots, have 3 feeders, and have spent the last 2 1/2 years building a cabin there.
I have used various plantings over the last 3 years, and have had good success with Tecomate. I watch with 2 trail cameras, and am quite proud of the quality of gobblers on the place. The deer are healthy, and I have filmed several dozen, and I would guess the best would score around 130, 3 of them. The area was poached heavily in the past by locals, but my place is secluded and wee have pretty much stopped that now, with the help of the local warden.
I haven’t harvested any deer off the KY place yet, because of the construction of the cabin, and I just love to watch them. We did take our first turkey off the place last spring, 28 lbs, 11 inch beard, 1 1/4” spurs.
Anyway, I’ll be around and joining in.
Always, double check your gun. Be safe, be happy, have fun.
hello everyone,my name is Derek Townsend and i am from Powder Springs , Ga.I am new to this site as well as typing,so hopefully i can wrap this up before turkey season gets here.i have followed the bucks of the tecomate for years now and have always been anxious to see what they produced each year.although i mainly hunt public land ,i still agree with everything involved in sound game management.i hope to one day be able to shoot the roll on a hunt in texas, but until then i’ll enjoy all of the offerings that my home state of Georgia has to offer.i’ll look foward to reading all the posts on this site and will continue to learn new techniques and advancements in management and conservation.Good luck to everyone of you on your next hunting or fishing adventure, and GOD bless.
