I’m looking at a lease in an area of East Texas which is owned by one of the big paper companies out there.  The land is used to grow a fast maturing hybrid pine.  While I have a number of misgivings about the quality of this habitat for whitetails, I thought I’d see if I could get some information related to one of them here.

Assuming this land has enough sunlit space to plant a decent food plot, which if any of the Tecomate Hunter’s line of seeds is likely to work in such pine forest soil without expensive soil amendment?  Texas soil maps indicate this is probably a type of ultisol, meaning it is acidic with relatively low native fertility.

Thanks for your help.
