Ted Jaycox is a big game outfitter who owns and operates Tall Tine Outfitters in Kansas and Florida. He was introduced to whitetail deer hunting at an early age and has been feverishly chasing them ever since. After a career in the wood products industry, he hosted and produced “The World of Hunting” television show. During the filming of these shows he traveled and hunted much of the US and Canada as well as making several trips to Africa. The exposure to a variety of hunting outfitters gave Ted a keen understanding of the wants and needs of clients as well as the different elements that make a hunting operation run smoothly. With this knowledge and his 40 plus years of hunting experience, he has built a very successful Kansas trophy whitetail and Florida Osceola turkey hunting business.

Ted’s real passion is bow hunting. For the past 30 years he has chased critters from the tip of Africa to the Arctic Circle. To him the best thing about these journeys has been the people he encountered and the relationships that have developed into lifelong friendships.

Because of the outfitting business, he does not get to spend as much time in a tree as he would like, so figuring out ways to outsmart a giant whitetails helps to fill that void. For Ted, there is nothing better than seeing the smile and emotion from a satisfied client after he’s just taken the biggest deer of his life.

Although he spends most of the fall in Kansas, he lives the rest of the year in Florida with his wife Shoni, daughters Tiffany and Tara, and son Chase. He also enjoys spending time in the woods with his two grandsons, one of which at age 7 has already taken 2 deer and a hog.
